There are certain singers who come along once in your lifetime, like Hank, Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, and a bunch of others..They are all gone now and never will be replaced...The only thing today's generation has is the bunch of imitators that you see on shows like Country Music Awards, that can't measure up no matter how hard they try.....It's a shame.

Sorry but Elvis cannot touch Hank on this one either vocally or insturmentally. Elvis was great never the less. My opinion of course.

I've heard several versions of this, but I came across it in the soundtrack to the Bogdonavich film "The Last Picture Show" and it was instantly a favorite.
