Tonight the Country Music Awards were on TV. While watching it occurred to me how very little what is now called "country" music resembles the fine songs and artistry we've enjoyed in the past. Today's music is covered up by loud instrumentals, and the singers look like yuppies. We've lost our true country heritage and I miss it. The folks who paved the way had to have great voices, and didn't have to cover with noise/smoke and mirrors. The women looked like pageant contestants.
