The song is about mutual love (listen to the chorus for crying out loud) and the video about love as depicted by 21st century sexual metaphors. Examples? ok the song is basicly lik a break up song which is why he sing "i try to leave this all on ur machine but the persistent beep ..."and he wrote it about her because he still loves her but she left which is why he sings "when youre away and i am missing you do death, whenyou, are out there on the road"he hopes that she will come bak which is why he sings "and when you scan the radio, i hope this song will guide you"
