that is a very bold statement. Elvis presely is one of the most influential people in rock n roll music of all time. How can you say that?

elvis..... elvis who!!! only one REAL legend and thats MR CASH. elvis isnt even in the same league and infact shouldnt even be associated with Mr CASH.

at this point in his career, cash wasnt happy w/ himself, nor the status of his career... both he & elvis came up together, yet took different roads. rock was turning country into roadkill at this point & its clear cash is bitter & jealous. notice closely what he said, "the real rock-n-roller, imitating a rocker". cash is slighting elvis & trying to lay claim to rocks early roots. as he got older & cleaned up he would later see the force elvis was. & he himself became a near=force in his genre.

Check out the Sun Records recording of the "Million Dollar Quartet" - Elvis, Johnny, Carl, and Jerry Lee messing around in the studio one day in Memphis probably around 55 or 56 (?) - never meant to be released so there are a lot of partial takes, but it's a pretty cool document and you realize that Elvis and Johnny's roots are so close (and even Ike Turner if you want to get down to it...) Gotta go to Memphis if you love country, rock and soul music - home to both Sun records AND Stax records.
