Roger "King of the Road" Miller wrote this song for Ray "Crazy Arms" Price... and Roger sings a mean harmony part too.

I read in Roger's bio on his website that he was only in Ray's band for a short time because his unconventional phrasing drove Ray nuts! lol

"Shoes" was is credited to Lee Ross and Bob Wills but was probably mostly Lee's song. He wrote a lot of good ones including "Heart to Heart Talk." He was playing in Bob's band in the 40's and was very prolific.

Sorry, you're right. I got it mixed up with "My Shoes Keep Walking Back To You." I know Ray quite well and feel stupid now that I got this mixed up with "My Shoes Keep Walking Back To You"

To see them together is just a thrill.I once attended a concert by Ray Price, and Roger Miller showed up on stage with him. They recorded "Old Friends" together. I'm not sure if Willie Nelson joined them.

You're wrong. Check this from Country Music Hall of Fame website:"...Miller was hired in 1958 to front Ray Prices Cherokee Cowboys. From that position, he suggested that Price cover Invitation to the Blues, a song Miller had written that was starting to take off in Rex Allens version. Released as the B-side of Prices 1958 smash City Lights, Invitation to the Blues rose to #3 on the charts, giving Miller his first major success in the business." Maybe Wills had similar a tune?

Roger Miller didn't write Invitation To The Blues. Bob Wills wrote it back in the mid 1940's. Don't get me wrong, Roger was one hellacious songwriter, he just didn't write Invitation To The Blues
