As part of one of the Country Music Family Reunions--Bashful Brother Oswald fessed up that he had palyed with Roy Afcuff for 54 years---yup--54 years!--And that once (at a park) the band let people pay a dime to see Roy Acuff sleep---errraaahhhhha! Course "I was drinking back in them days"--errraaahhhaaa! What great showmen--both!

Pete Kirby aka Oswald was a truly fine man I got to meet and spend his birthday with him backstage at the Opry in 1987. It was my second favorite time (after marrying my wife of many years of course...she's standing here :) A great man and sorely missed. I was happy to get to spend some time with someone who was a true hero to me.

Roy Acuff and Oswald both lived into their 90s! What great performers...Oswald played such sweeeeet Dobro!

Oswald is responsable for keeping the Dobro from dying , He played with Roy over 50 years on the Grand Ol Opry and is the only Sideman ever , Who was made a Member of the Opry , after Roy's death , a True Southern Gentleman and My Friend for over 30 years

I realy like Roy Acuff but had not ever head of Bashful Brother Oswald. I like country, blues and bluegrass slide guitar.
