I was only about 4 years old when Gene was singing that song on the radio.

He was always my favorite cowboy, and I once saw him in person in Seminole, Oklahoma! "Back in the Saddle Again" is still one of my favorite songs. His voice is so full and round. One other fun story, back when people still rode the bus, I rode it from Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., to New Mexico. I happened to wake up in the middle of the night, and we had stopped in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Gene was working as a telegraph operator there when "discovered" by Will Rogers! Wow!Gene Autry.

This was my hero when I was a young boy...I a thought it was pretty cool of Gene to always use those six-shooters as the the bits in "Champion's" mouth.....

he goes from t.v. star and singer to baseball franchise owner, not to bad for a life, also considering that its the angels, to bad he's gone, was the best owner of the angels ever

THE WHOLE LIFE AFFIRMING CULTURE DIED WITH JFK.....entertainment pretty much went over to the dark side upon his death.

Don't forget Little Champ. He was so adorable. I still watch Gene, twice a day on Encore Western. I especially like his scenes with Gail Davis. As long as he doesn't kiss her, he's still mine. LOL I'll always love Gene!
